Ching-Shan Chang is a composer of multimedia scores and concert music based in Los Angeles. She is the composer of numerous studio and short films and has contributed additional music for composers such as Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL), Mychael Danna, Carter Burwell, Dino Meneghin, and more but is currently primarily working alongside Holkenborg as an additional composer. Currently, she is working on director Zack Snyder's upcoming Netflix feature film Rebel Moon in Holkenborg's team. Her credits can be found in studio films such as Sonic the Hedgehog 2, 3 (Paramount Pictures), Rebel Moon Part I & II & Director’s Cut (Netflix), My Father’s Dragon (Netflix), Teen Wolf: The Movie (Paramount +), and more. Some of her notable collaborations include Elsewhere (A Flor Azul), directed by Guilherme Pedra, marking a milestone with its successful performance across film festivals including the 71st International Cannes Film Festival, and her winning of several Best Music awards and film music competitions such as International Berlin Film Scoring Competition, and Krakow FMF Young Talent Awards has also opened a door for her in Hollywood. Moreover, she was the first Asian female composer to win the Golden Eye in the 8th International Zurich Film Music Competition for her score in Danny and the Wild Bunch. In 2024, she scored a feature film Laws of Man directed by Phil Blattenberger, which stars Harvey Keitel (Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs), Graham Greene (The Green Mile, Dances with the Wolves) Forrie J. Smith (Yellowstone), Dermot Mulroney (American Horror Story), and Jackson Rathbone (Twilight).

Before she started her career as a film composer, she has participated in several workshops such as NYU/ASCAP Film Scoring Workshop with Woman in Music Scholarship from Sorel Organization, The Mentor Program from The Society of Composers and Lyricists, the ASCAP/ Columbia Film Scoring Workshop, and a year-long internship with Junkie XL in Score Academy in 2019. Her journey as an artist has been celebrated for her involvement across multiple fields of music and can be found in numerous journalist publishers of different sizes across the world including Washington Square News, Shoutout LA, and major Taiwanese newspaper outlets such as Liberty Times Net, China Times, Central News Agency and more. 

Aside from Ching-Shan's works in the multimedia world, she has also been contributing music for trailers, commercials, and concert music. She has been commissioned by a variety of performers and orchestras including her long-time collaborator National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra. They've worked on projects such as the musical "Once Upon an Island", orchestral arrangements of Taiwanese folk tunes, and the national anthem played at Taiwan's National Day Ceremony in 2021 on the world-famous landmark - Taipei 101. Ching-Shan’s recent works also include "Images of Kaohsiung - Cangue of Freedom" premiered by Evergreen Symphony Orchestra, “Images of Taipei: The Old, The New, and The Beautiful” for Taipei Symphony Orchestra, “Fanfare CoMo” for Missouri Symphony Orchestra, and the Pandemic chapter of Women Warriors: The Voices of Change. And most recently, she was commissioned to compose the music for Taiwan’s Tourism Bureau’s annual Lantern Festival light show which will be recorded with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra.
